Steffon Barkload – Quit Drinking Forever
It seems the majority of people can have a drink or two, maybe drink a bit too much on occasion, and that’s perfectly normal.
Having said this, we all know that having the need to drink, days in a row, or drinking in excess can be very harmful. Drinking chronically has been shown to cause a myriad of problems, including severe anxiety and depression to say the least.
For some reason or another it’s the people with the most creativity and even highest potential the ones who tend to become alcoholics. Having fun and getting creative, losing inhibition and maybe even uncovering unknown layers of the mind are some of the reasons many people drink in excess.
Drinking makes everything a lot more fun, music sounds better and we feel we can express our “true selves”.
All this sounds like the best solution to make the best out of the day, make more friends, and even in some cases be more productive in business. But we all know what happens when drinking becomes a habit, and we need alcohol just to feel normal or worse yet, just to be able to avoid anxiety and depression and “hang in there”.
It turns into a vicious and destructive cycle. Not just for you, but for your loved ones as well.
If you’ve decided you want to quit drinking, keep on reading…
Alcoholism affects people from all walks of life. People from a variety of backgrounds, cultures and upbringings. People of wide age ranges.
Alcoholism in America has changed over the years, but if there’s one thing that’s remained constant, it’s the dangerousness of the condition.
Alcoholism doesn’t discriminate people by gender, age, religion or social status. The fact is that it can be a problem people from any walk of life, at any given time. While studies about alcoholism have certainly changed year after year, we all know that it has always been dangerous and it will always be dangerous.
There’s some research that highlights this fact:
- If we take a quick look at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) website we can quickly learn that 17 percent of men and 8 percent of women will become alcoholics during their lifetime. (NIAAA)
- Furthermore, and more worrying is that according to the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence 100,000 people die every year from alcohol-related causes: drinking and driving crashes (DUI’s), and other accidents, falls, fires, and worse of all: alcohol-related homicides and suicides. (NCAAD)
These statistics are pretty scary by themselves and they are just the tip of the iceberg. Many alcoholics deny they have a problem and say that they can quit whenever they want to. We know how that goes most of the time.
However, by using simple research tools provided by google and other search engines there’s some interesting data we can highlight:
- About 1000 to 10,000 the keyword “how to quit drinking” is used on google every month alone.
- If you consider all other related phrases, at least 100,000 searches are done every month looking for a way to quit drinking once and for all.
This means that you’re not alone, tens of thousands of people are looking for a solution every single day.
